I sincerely believe the man will go down as being in the bottom 5 presidents in our country's history to date (I would have said absolute lowest, but some notable outliers do exist that are often forgotten about. For example, Andrew Jackson was responsible for the Trail of Tears/ wide-scale displacement of Native Americans, and did some absolutely WILD shit during his term.

I dislike his presidency in a conservative libertarian way

I liked his first term because he came into the presidency as a person who wasn’t a career long politician. Since his first term he’s become the exact staple Of a politician, not fulfilling promises, taking sketchy bribes, ect.

I think a lot of the problems right now could be considered growing pains. Particularly tariffs are raising prices for now, but long term, we don’t want to be dependent on the power hunger authoritarians in China and the Middle East for literally all of our products, so forcing America to develop its own infrastructure can be good in the long run.

Trump just doesn’t understand anything, starts stupid wars and doesn’t know what a trade deficit is.

See, this is something that too many people don't truly understand: China was dependent on the US, just as the US was dependent on China. We bought their cheap shit, they sold to us. On a broader picture, by tying global trade together in such a complex, dependent manner, you're essentially creating a convoluted, though rather effective, way of ensuring moderate global harmony. I.e., China wouldn't go to war with the US since their economies were so dependent on each other.

Like, I agree that you don't want to be fully dependent on foreign nations for all your needs, but ideally, you want to be able to self-sustain for the resources your nation essentially needs, and import the things you don't have wide-scale access to, or don't specialize in. Cutting all external chains is a catch-22, cause you're widely destabilizing the global order in ways that could be catastrophic short-term.
