Competitive dates are only fun if someone isnt obviously beating the shit out of the other person and bringing your own ball, to me atleast, reads as Im not doing this for fun Im doing it to beat you

Imma be real dude, there are way too many people on here that aren’t willing to accept reality. If you said “is it okay to wear a furry shirt and crocs to a first date”, most of these people would still say yes. If you bring a personal bowling ball on a first date, she will probably get a bad first impression from that

Yeah, I think they can maybe bring it on future dates with the same person, but for the first date just play with the stuff there

Yeah I’m seconding this, even if you aren’t being competitive I feel like it sets a weird dynamic for the other person of “oh, am I just an accessory to this other person’s skilled hobby?” I feel like for a date part of the fun is the activity itself even if you both suck/the game doesn’t go amazingly

I don’t think it’s competitive it’s just like. Your own is usually custom to your hand and strength and more comfortable
