As long as you don’t have an addictive personality and you’re sure that you can keep it to just special occasions, sure. It’s obviously not healthy at all, but neither is drinking alcohol and the majority of people do that pretty often.

Weed? Sure. Cigarettes? No. Nicotine will ruin your life.

Hookah has never been even remotely addicting to me, but at the same time, it's not that great. So sure, a little hookah is fine. NEVER start vaping though

I say try everything once, and leave it at that, doing it repeatedly WILL get you addicted. I’ve tried smoking, w pens, and coca, but only once or twice. Never more.

I wanna get high like I did in college but I feel like my personality + my environment now that I’m working is very conducive to becoming addicted.

If you need a substance to have fun, there’s a bigger problem at hand

I don’t think this is true. I used to smoke cigars once a month or so with a buddy of mine, and I never had the desire to smoke more than that. If you’re smoking like 3 or 4 times a week or something, yeah, you have a decent chance of getting addicted. But if it’s truly occasional, the risk of getting addicted is pretty low.

Ig thats fair, I mean I too drink once in a while, maybe once a week, sometimes not for months at a time, but I feel like the chances of addiction are higher enough to stay away

Maybe I’m an anomaly but I used to smoke 5-10 cigarettes every evening, cigars on the weekends, and sometimes vape or use zyns in class and even then I just decided to stop doing it and never had any sort of craving or withdrawal

Getting high in college was to enhance a good feeling. Getting high now would be to remedy a bad one (the stress of work). As such, even though I got high fairly often, it was never out of an addictive impulse and there were plenty of stretches I just didn’t get high and it didn’t phase me. If I got high now, it would probably become quite addictive.

Maybe it’s best you don’t then. A therapist can help you find some better coping mechanisms

Facts I think I’d definitely benefit from working it out with a therapist. Been meaning to start but it’s mad expensive in my area. Everyone is like $100/session at minimum.

Damn that is expensive. Have you ever tried telehealth? I found a therapist a while back who was pretty far away but my insurance covered my visits fully and he was great!

Ooh no haven’t tried telehealth. Was there a certain site you used to find your therapist?

it’s not really having substances at all, but like seeing my friends doing and curiosity

I mean just personally I’ve had friends offer me things like that but I’ve never seen it be worth it in anyone that’s affected. Your body’s a temple, and you have to be careful what you allow to bring in.
