
Most stereotypes are at least rooted in truth. Black people are significantly more likely to commit crimes, but it’s not because they’re black, it’s because they’re poor, due simply to how history has worked out. Poverty leads to more stressful living conditions and less educational opportunities.
east asian parents (japan, china, south korea). being demanding of their children to be prodigies in stuff, like forcing them to become a doctor or professional oboe player, and calling them a failure if they do anything but pull straight A's. ask anyone with east asian parents and they'll tell you it's true.
also black people do in fact love watermelons. freed slaves and black people who weren't sharecroppers had very few options, but some were able to become very successful watermelon farmers, and so watermelons became a symbol of black economic independence, and is therefore why they became mocked for it by white racists.
