Not bad because I’ve been rated on there but bad because data leak

I think it’s important to have spaces like this but at the same time there’s literally 0 barriers in place for someone to just trash an innocent person. Also, the way that developer had the database set up is wild.

Bad (M) because it /can/ be taken advantage of. This "false report" shit isn't nearly as common as you dudes pretend, but it does happen. I like the idea but the implementation isn't ideal. I admit that I can't think of a better solution aside from normalizing communicating about shitty guys.

I think it’s just like any other “are we dating the same guy” Facebook group or yikyak group (girl talk/for the boys).

I think there are positive aspects to it and I wouldn’t fault someone for using it, but I think it probably does more harm than good (F, but lesbian, so looking at it from an outside perspective)

it’s not the worst thing in world, but i can see both sides of it being bad. on one hand, boys aren’t able to defend themselves against what people are saying and people could be making false claims. on the other hand, women are able to protect themselves against abusive guys. the main thing (from what i saw) is a lot of women are exposing grapists, cheaters and assaulters.

How do I find out if I’m on it?

Sign up for an account as a woman (since the app doesn’t allow men on) and search your name

You need to show your ID

Ask a friend is the best way to

But honestly you shouldn’t even ask a friend unless they’re already on it, the data security is so bad it’s dangerous putting your ID in there

it’s an app (only women are allowed on it) where women can post pictures of a boy they’re talking to/dating/dated etc (anonymously) and other women can comment on the boy and tell her about him if they know him. women can also see other posts about him if they search his name.

One argument for why it’s a good thing men weren’t allowed is because normally when men are allowed into spaces like that they end up posting CSAM, leaking nudes, and being general assholes

i would compare it to “girl talk” or “spicy girl talk” on here where it gives women a space to express themselves but it’s constantly being ruined by guys with their gross comments

An argument for why it’s not a good thing men weren’t allowed is that it took women’s ID and addresses and didn’t secure them which made it really vulnerable to anyone trying to hack it and steal everything I genuinely wonder if this was coded with AI or something or if they had actual programmers who were really that incompetent with data security

How would men being allowed make it any better?

It’s not really a women’s self-expression thing tho, it’s about “spilling the tea” on specific men. Sometimes that’s about safety or if he’s a cheater or something, sometimes it’s just any other gossip

I mean I don’t think men should’ve been allowed in concept, my point is that they verified it was only women by having people upload their IDs and that information is all leaked now I think generally building apps around premises that require that kind of sensitive data disclosure is a recipe for disaster

But you started your post with “an argument for why it’s not a good thing men weren’t allowed…” how would men being allowed on the app change how the app gathered information

The app gathered that information to prevent men from being on the app So it’s an argument against restricting users in a way that requires that information
