absolutely heat. if it’s cold i can always put on layers but the inside of a hot car is just misery with no reprieve

The heating function could be quite important in an emergency (like a traffic jam in the snow). The no AC one would suck real bad but if you open up your windows you can manage.

anytime i have heat on i always have to put windows down anyways, I think i’d die without AC driving in this 100° heat (plus i’d never be able to even touch the wheel)

I will lose feeling in my hands within seconds during the winter time and everything will hurt, I can’t drive. During the summer I’ll just sweat buckets and feel rather gross. I’d much rather not have AC, I lived like that for a few years and it wasn’t that bad

experienced both. they suck ass. on one hand you could cook your car alive but on the other you’re steering like a dickhead because you can’t feel your hands

My heater doesn't work but in Texas I rarely need it if ever. I don't have a garage so I have to go out into the cold to enter my car anyway. If I'm already layered up before getting in my car and I'll need layers to get out of my car, I don't mind being layered up inside my car. Steering wheel is a bit cold but it's not too terrible.

My first Arizona summer I had no ac. It fucking sucked at stops. But I also had no heat in Michigan. The defrost was necessary. Also when it gets to certain temps it’s literally a love or die.

Live in NC, I survive our summers without AC in my shitty ass fourth hand car every year. I know it’s not as bad as other places but it gets pretty damn hot and it only gets sorta cold and id still prefer to have the heat in the winter.

In one situation, you can’t breathe, can’t touch certain parts of the car without getting 1st degree burns, can’t see because they’re salty sweat in your eyes, can’t sit down without getting panini pressed into the seat, and that’s all just trying to get in the car after parking it in the sun for 8 minutes. In the other situation, you’re cold.

I think it depends a lot on location too tho. In Arizona im picking AC no doubt. In Wisconsin where I am, I can survive just rolling down the windows when it’s hot. I’ve done that plenty of times. Wisconsin winters.. yeah I can’t even drive until it warms up or I’m wearing gloves bc my hands are so numb and it’s gotten to the point where I can’t even grip anything, esp if I just cleaned snow off my car

You’re cold but your fingers/body also gets numb, snd you could possibly get hypothermia. The heat is better bc you can always take off your clothes, but in the cold there’s so many gloves/coats you can wear before you have uncomfortable, and there’s no escaping it inside the car or outside. At least in the heat there might be a warm breeze outside.

lol I always say the opposite: in the cold you can put on as many layers as you need, in the heat there’s only so many layers you can take off before you’re naked. definitely proves 2’s point that you could say either one, just depends on location. where I live, a warm breeze in the heat is nottt gonna happen or help

I wonder how well this poll actually asks folks if they live in a cold or hot area, snowstorms would make a heater essential for safety but I'd never need one.
