To support Trump/ MAGA movement in 2026, one of these are true about you. 1. Be an actual fascist, Christian nationalist, or white nationalist 2. Have no critical thinking skills 3. Be a cult member 4. Be a billionaire or support the billionaire class

I’m actually very sympathetic toward most MAGA supporters, but I do believe I agree with this. Especially on the point of 2. . And this extends beyond MAGA—a lot of people nowadays just want to follow a narrative that sounds nice to them without thinking beyond that. Same thing happens with left-winged ppl, too.

Yeah cult of personality’s are tough to get out of because everyone wants something or someone to believe in. To have faith in. There’s nothing wrong with that inherently. But it’s when you can’t use your critical thinking skills (or you don’t have them) that it becomes a cult.

Some on the left, or really of any political group, don’t critically think. They were born or married into a family with that ideology and never questioned it. I agree. It’s hard to tell with some maga people because you may think it’s 2, but it’s really 1 and they’re just playing dumb. Or it’s 3 and they just love a cult of personality.

I guess, yeah, but don’t you think 1. and 3. could be a byproduct of 2. ? They don’t necessarily have to be disconnected! Refusing to think critically can be what leads to people following a cult of personality. Or falling into certain hateful beliefs

It has to do with the decline in education and literacy big time. It’s a systemic issue that I sympathize with, but still doesn’t erase the need for accountability.

You still believe he was the better option? He’s made some pretty awful decisions in my opinion as president so far. His opponent probably would have done NOTHING in her presidency, but at least she wouldn’t have made as many poor decisions, either, I bet

Overall yea, I still think he’s the better option. He’s definitely made some bad choices and is still the same classless big mouth he was before, but overall things have improved from where they were 2020-2024 imo when Kamala and their cabinet were running things using Biden.

sure, i’ll take the downvotes: every single conservative president since at least Nixon has been painted this way by their detractors. what usually happens is the worst of the far right is conflated with the presidential administration, often by prominent journalists, which then informs the basis of the left’s view of that president. George W. Bush was viewed the same way, and now whenever he pops up people comment on how “the Republicans used to be so normal!”

One day, this WILL happen to Donald Trump. When he turns out to not actually be the fascist dictator he’s been portrayed as and is replaced by someone else in 2028, suddenly the narrative will shift. Mark my words: in the future a Republican president WILL be called fascist again, and Trump will be held up as an example of a “good” republican. Based on your post, you probably will disagree, so remember that I said this for when it’s proven in the next ~10 years.

He’s not a fascist dictator lol, but he will always be remembered for his ABSURD remarks and ABSURD actions. Like have you seen the renovations he’s made to the white house? Trump is undoubtedly different from those past politicians, honestly. Nixon outside of his scandal was a good president. Reagan outside of Reaganomics and his policies on black neighborhoods was a good president. Trump… doesn’t have anything going for him. He has the controversy, but no true “wins” that differentiate him

I could be wrong, though, but all I’ve seen is him fail the economy, take bribes from foreign nations, and help in padding the pockets of the rich. Don’t even get me started on how poor of an idea his tariffs were His action in potential global conflicts has been solid, I guess, but domestically it’s been real bad.

The hate will definitely subside a lot, but unlike someone like Bush, Trump has actually tried to make some semi-permanent changes. Like constant the modifications to the white house, his attempt to build a wall, etc. Unlike those past greats, Trump seems to be obsessed with the idea of leaving a traceable legacy behind. That’s why I feel he’s different imo. Though I guess the reasons behind his actions will eventually fade, yeah.

sure, I’ll go for a few of his policies where I think he exceeds Biden: 1. Foreign policy: With a strong exception in regards to tariffs (any economist worth their salt will say that Protectionism is stupid) the Trump admin has presented a significantly more cogent and adept policy in regards to Iran, peace negotiations in Israel/Gaza, and encouraging NATO allies to finally spend what they agreed to spend on defense. Biden’s admin wavered on all these things.

I don’t pay enough attention to what’s going on to list off anything specific that won’t be deconstructed or labeled as fallacy. All I know is from what I hear (usually a few days late) and what I experience. I’ve noticed cheaper prices and I’ve heard that criminals are being punished so I approve of that. Sure there’s lots of things I don’t like that he’s doing but that’s the case with every president. I just think that overall, things have improved from where they were around the world.

In particular, Biden’s policy on the war in Gaza was catastrophic. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that his “light pressure” approach did nothing but alienate Israel, prolong the war and suffering by giving Hamas false hope that the U.S. would bail them out of their situation: trying to fight off drone strikes with nothing but AK-47s and flip flops. Trump was unequivocal: the war must end, and Hamas must go. Unless you’re the conspiracy type, that is America’s interest in that conflict

1. Not gonna downvote for your opinion. 2. I was alive in the bush presidency. I’m old. No one serious called him a fascist. Maybe some riot gurlz Or Jill stein voters did, but not the general public. Trump is different. 3. He’s not a fascist dictator, he wants to be. Fascism is not an end result. He’s rapidly changing things, making a lot of stuff trend downward, when he could have had a net benefit on the U.S. by doing practically nothing. Honestly, if a true conservative was at the head of the U.S. right now we’d probably be in a super cushy position.

Well, from what I do hear (I only occasionally read from SAN), there’s positive and negative. There will always be critics and supporters no matter what people do. One thing I like is with Venezuela since the Venezuelans seem to be very happy about it. One thing I don’t like is the whole Greenland nonsense because why tf do we need Greenland. But again, good and bad, from the limit stuff I know, he’s doing worse than I hoped but not so bad I think he’s the antichrist.

Also I 100% have to recommend the SAN app. It’s pretty cool and tells you what sides are reporting what so you can try and get a relatively unbiased opinion, which seems to be nearly impossible nowadays.

Anonymous replying to -> #6 1d

you should consider that the owner of the app, who is a white conservative billionaire, donated over a million dollars to trumps 2016 campaign, and was found to have sent both racist and religophobic emails in 2012. those attributes would make someone want to make an unbiased app that may not be any which way leaning to his status, beliefs, and actions?

And, while I don’t t care what race the person is, I didn’t know that about the owner. I just heard that it was good and liked it provided sources and metrics when I used it. I still prefer it to Fox News or like CNN or other news sources tho. I just wish there was something as close to unbiased as possible so I could get the information and make up my own mind.

and the information I just gave you were concrete facts about him, which I can infer where his intentions lie. Well, I tried it for myself and made that call. If someone who works at cold stone says that cold stone has the best ice cream and I go there and like the ice cream, does that mean that me liking the ice cream isn’t correct because of the possible bias from the person who recommended it? Bias or not, I made a call after trying it first hand and preferring it to the more extreme alternatives. If you have something less bias I’d be happy to try it but that doesn’t mean that SAN is outright bias

The other thing is that it’s hard to take people’s word when they label people racists and homophobic or what have you. Those names are just thrown around at everyone these days and really don’t mean what they should. It’s not personal, I just don’t believe anybody when thy say stuff like that.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #6 1d

again, your argument isn’t working cause someone saying “cold stone has the best ice cream” is still an opinion, not a fact. that’s up to the consumer. and making your call after your own personal experience shapes your bias because you had a positive experience. there are no facts within this reasoning. him being a billionaire is a fact. him donating a mil dollars to Trump is a fact, not an opinion. i can infer from these points on how the app is, even if I could be wrong
