Like for me, I’d only call my older people by their first name if they introduced themselves as that when I was a kid. Now I’m older and they’re like “please call me Diane” and I’m like “hell nah”

The only people I have this with are teachers and professors who I remained friends with after I was no longer their student. Sorry but I can only call you Dr. Smith or whatever, it feels disrespectful to do anything else

It depends on what I was first introduced to them as. Some of my friends’ parents I refer to by first name but some of them I just call Mr/Mrs Lastname.
