Personally, I think they're just gonna let him it, not even bother to criticize him or persuade him not to, which I find really worrying and quite sad

MAGA would lick the dirt from between his toes if he asked them. most of his followers have completely stopped thinking for themselves.

🤷‍♀️I think you surround yourself with the wrong party then, or only view what’s presented on social media. Republicans and MAGA are quite different. MAGA is quite extremist nowadays. Republicans are not

If you look at how many Republicans approve of Trump, nearly all of them do. He also received more votes in the Republican primaries than any other candidate

I realized I should cite this data so check this out as an example: https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/statistics/data/donald-j-trump-2nd-term-public-approval 1/21/2025-1/27/2025 91% Republicans approve (Gallup) 1/12/2026-1/13/2026 86% Republicans approve (Marist USA) 9/11/2026-9/14/2026 82% Republicans approve (Ipsos)

Nah, OP is right. I agree with what you're saying on a textbook, on-paper level (the Repub party "supposedly" stood for small government, small business, traditional values, fiscal conservatism, etc.), but in practice, at the federal level at least, the Repubs have been hijacked and steered by the MAGA supporters since at least 2016 now.

I will add on that, in terms of general, national registration of people in the Republican party, and local/ state elections, you're right, not all of them are MAGA, and in fact a very sizable number aren't. On the federal stage though, MAGA unfortunately holds the reigns.

The best things about opinion they can’t be true or false. But no they aren’t going to let him run a third term because he can’t. It will most likely be JD Vance that they would pick to run.
