Paying overtime when the company isn’t prepared to on a regular basis is a legitimate concern for management. You’re mad they want you to take your full break?

Thank you guys for your feedback! I just never worked anywhere that was so strict about time or that had a system that rounds up the time. My last job was salaried, and I loved it, but I was laid off two months ago, with no warning. I had to take whatever IT job I could get. ☹️

They could also be concerned about breaking labor laws/union agreements if applicable

I came back from break a little early one day, thinking I was gonna be late and I was only no more than 7 minutes early. The computer rounds up the time in 15 minute intervals, so that’s why it’s 15 minutes. I personally think bugging me for 15 minutes of OT is excessive and ridiculous.

They also don’t want you to leave not even one minute before your time, so how exactly would you explain micromanagement of time, then?

Did you read what I said to the other person? I accidentally came back 7 minutes early from break, but the computer rounded up to 15 minutes. I just think it’s excess to be this anal about time. I’ve worked a lot of hourly jobs, and never had managers send me emails for a few minutes of overtime.
