I expect a thank you, but not a whole card

My mom had my write a personalized thank you card to everyone how gave me a card for hs graduation. It was like 50 cards, but I’m glad I did it

Depends on the gift. I don’t expect to be in this position any time soon, but if I have someone a gift rhat was like super expensive I feel like there should be a thank you card per etiquette. I wouldn’t care, but I would /expect/ it based on what I understand of social etiquette (idk if that made sense)

I’ve come to notice this is a very upper middle to upper class thing. Grew up lower middle at best and never experienced it until befriending people I’d consider well off.
