The government is elected by you and your fellow citizens. It represents you. Occasionally the community decides to go to war or intervene somewhere in the world. People prepare to fight in case they need to. Conservative entertainers pulled off this trick where they made government seem like an abstract evil entity but government is elected by and held accountable by the people. The majority gets to day what goes. And some people on the losing side don't like that and will rail against "governm

Rich people donate campaign money to back their picks, so by the time the major elections are here we get the candidates who will do anything for a buck. We begrudgingly choose from them, and they inevitably turn around and do whatever they want regardless of what they campaigned for. The community doesn’t choose war, congress does. Current events have proven that checks and balances are easily thrown out the window
