Holy crap that’s a lot of comments I don’t wanna be involved with😅 anyway, I’m surprised no one has voted for only sexist. Obviously it’s both, but like someone else said, no one used that language in reference to president Obama (at least from what I’m aware of). And honestly, I’m not surprised by how many people said neither. I know wayy too many people irl that don’t see a problem with the statement
You’re probably right about them just wanting attention. Idk, ig the only people I’ve interacted with who’ve been argumentative purely for the sake of attention were trolls, not people who genuinely seem to believe what they’re arguing (I know that’s common on twitter but I’ve rarely ever used twitter). I think I figured if I could just get them to listen that things would go well
N word is a slur against black people which has been reclaimed by black people by not using the hard r. Bitch is a derogatory term targeted at women. When people call men bitches with derogatory intent, it’s targeting annoying and aggressive traits often seen as feminine. N word without hard r is heard most often in rap which is male dominated, meaning you hear black men say it more often than black women. It can and is used to address black women though Bitch can address men or women, but it-
Honestly, the original comment was nasty and disrespectful, no one should talk about people like that. But I personally didn’t read it as sexist. I saw it as a racially motivated insult toward Kamala, not an attack on women. Just because someone uses a gendered word doesn’t mean they’re sexist, context matters, and to me the issue here was clearly race.
And ppl have used the n word to try and insult white ppl. That doesn’t change what the purpose of the word is for? The term “bitch” is rooted in misogyny 😭 even when used to refer to men it’s still derogatory towards women because when they say a man is “acting like a bitch” or “is being a bitch” they’re saying he’s acting like a woman 😱
I brought up the usage of the n word. U claimed in western slang it’s used to refer to men. I’m telling u that it refers to ANY BLACK PERSON. We call women the N word, trans men the n word, trans women the n word, ect. Anyone who is black is referred to as the n word in a modern context. Then I told u that the term bitch is derogatory towards women even when used against men because it’s rooted in misogyny
Yes, I understand. The N-word is used referred to Black people. what IM saying it’s also used to refer to men, and no one calls it sexist so why are y’all calling it sexist when someone refers to a woman as a bitch? people say the N-word and bitch to refer to females males. We see this on social media and text and rap songs and slang.
That’s because of the historical context behind each word. It doesn’t matter how we use them today it matters why these words were created and how they were originally used. It’s not sexist when u refer to men as the n word because it wasn’t and isn’t just used against men. It’s sexist when u call anyone a bitch because it’s rooted in misogyny. That’s the reasoning.
