I say/get “thank you” hundreds of times a day at my customer service job, which is very nice, but at a certain point it starts to feel like something meaningless and said by default. Also I have to say “you’re welcome” back and it’s tiring. Maybe I’m just not personable enough and should quit
I definitely think that’s not just a you issue. Constant meaningless cordial remarks do sound draining. They’re less meaningful… hopefully you have a few people that come in who put a little extra light into your day. Maybe some that strike up small conversations, compliment you, things like that.
