Is it socially justified to speed during urgent situations like if your flight was cancelled and you have to make it to a funeral?

Speeding is always morally justified but the people you kill in a car crash are not gonna care about how busy you are My moms back has been hurting for 20 years cus someone was trying to get to work and he expected her to go through the yellow light and she didn’t and he hit her at 60mph

depends on how much your speeding risks others' safety (how many cars are on the road? are there intersections? etc)

I guess it depends. Now if you’re speeding like crazy?? Then no. I think that’s only okay when it’s life or death, not because you so happened to be late or miss an event in which no one is dying.

It depends how much honestly. I feel like basically everyone speeds in general and if you’re going the speed limit you’re going slower than everyone

You are right, but everything in life is about risk assessment. If a loved one of yours died or is in danger, you would do anything and everything just to be with that person. For many people, the chances of an accident while speeding are low enough to take that risk in order to attend one of the most important events of your life.

I totally understand what you are saying but I think unless someone was actually going to die if I drove the speed limit or like my family was in an active shooting I don’t think I would risk dying on the way there. But again my family was changed forever by someone in a hurry and I started driving at 20 so I’m extremely biased
