Wanting a profit isn’t the problem. It’s putting increased profit margins over the health of the economy or their worker’s livelihoods

I think the biggest issue here is that everyone expects traditional work culture to look the same 2-3 years from now—going a little further, even 5. Governments need to be thinking about things like UBI (universal basic income) for working-age citizens and adults; the fact that these discussions aren’t being held is worrying because how do you expect people to make a living if there are no/less jobs or not enough jobs for everyone? This is a multifaceted problem that will take time to address.
