I think the biggest issue here is that everyone expects traditional work culture to look the same 2-3 years from now—going a little further, even 5. Governments need to be thinking about things like UBI (universal basic income) for working-age citizens and adults; the fact that these discussions aren’t being held is worrying because how do you expect people to make a living if there are no/less jobs or not enough jobs for everyone? This is a multifaceted problem that will take time to address.
AGI (artificial general intelligence) is literally just around the corner and, at that point, the singularity point won’t be much further away (when AI surpassed human knowledge and ability). Everyone knew these capitalistic work systems were bound to collapse under their own weight. We’re seeing this happen in real-time.
