if you’re taking on loans to go to some fancy school or out of state, any amount. if you’re taking on loans just to survive at the local in-state and you’re in a degree path with a great ROI…. still take out as little as possible but it is a different situation. look into ROTC, work study, etc.

Your anticipated first years salary. $40k job? $40k in loans. Etc.

$1 is too much. Find a way to graduate with zero debt; whatever it takes.

Honestly. The 4 year prospect of the value of college being a net positive is looking grim. Go, if you want. But see if you can pickup a trade and have the hours counted as well. Then work your trade in college as employment and bankroll your education - or take #2 advice.
