I want to start investing, I’ve got $5,000 i’m willing to put in. I’m thinking of going with a fidelity brokerage account. Other suggestions?

I would strongly recommend Charles Schwab. The average account balance there is a lot higher than most brokerages (it’s what rich people use), so their customer service is 24/7 and always based in the US. I’ve had less than 10k in my account but when I call a US based person answers with “Hello Mr. (My name)”
