So I can weigh in on this one. There is data on FRED that allows us to compute the average net worth of Americans in different wealth percentiles. I wanted to give some background data to address the question (While also allowing people to interact with this graph to find out what high-percentile wealth holders had in the past) But I could not help but notice some trends revealed by this data. • Distances between brackets are growing over time • Those with more wealth are gaining wealth the fastest • All wealth percentiles trend upwards over time except for the bottom 50% who regularly experience volatility up/down
