Why wouldn’t you just buy a used car that’s already depreciated a good amount, that’s 3-5 years old?

Depends how long you wanna drive it. Tbh, 10 years and 120k miles your usually looking at like 10k (plus features might bring it up to 15) and if you wanna really drive it into the ground 15-17 years brings you down to 3k (so long as you trade it in before it rusts through the body, or has major engine/transmission problems)
