pet store worker here! rachel ray, fresh pet, any blue buffalo (tiki cat is now owned by them and quality has PLUMMETED), do NOT buy!!!
comfy cozy and sleepy in his new blanket. ALSO DO NOT BUY RACHEL RAY DOG FOOD IN ANY FORM. this might be the reason my baby got so sick i thought he was going to die. other peoples’ pets have died from this.

hi, OP here with the sick puggy. i did not know initially that the quality has gone absolutely downhill until my sister did some research. my dog was being picky and didn’t show interest in his kibble, but i knew from past experience he liked rachel ray so i thought i would try it again. within about a month and a half, maybe a little longer, he basically stopped eating altogether and lost 8lbs. he now has protein losing enteropathy, which means albumin is leaking out of his intestines and gut.

Avoid grain free food too! it is linked to causing heart disease in dogs, they do actually need food with grain in it

When I did research for what food to feed my new cat, I read Blue Buffalo was good. From what you know from your job, why should we avoid it?

this is most likely caused by the explosive diarrhea he was having which many, many pet owners have reported their pets having as well. i feel so guilty for possibly making my senior dog this sick, but right now he’s a lot more like himself after a lot of medication (he gets meds 3x a day now). his WBC was very high and albumin low.

another pet owner reported their dog having something similar and unfortunately, their dog passed. it was caused by food poisoning. my dog is on antibiotics now and i called his vet office today. while i’m here, can you recommend a high calorie unflavored doggie pedialyte i could give him to help him regain weight?

also, to add to what i was saying about his condition, he went really downhill in a matter of weeks. from being perfectly healthy, very active, to barely having energy and losing all that weight. he’s 14.5 and up until mid-january was literally the healthiest dog.

blue buffalo may be on the rise again (for dogs), but after all of the issues very similar to what #1 is going through right now, i will never trust them again, or any time soon. poor quality control, poor ingredients (i understand not many foods are good but there are better foods for the same price), too many animals got very sick/died from eating their food, and so forth. in terms of cats, i’m not entirely sure how different they are

i do know with the recent sell out of tiki cat to blue buffalo, the quality has gone insanely downhill. many cats that only ate this food completely stopped eating it after the switch as they completely switched the ingredients and formula

i tend to tell people to avoid these brands as from my few years working in the industry, i get reports from consumers of issues relating to #1 in various ways all of the time. as well as if they are newer brands as we have nothing to go off of in terms of what it may do to your pet!

he’s showing a lot of signs of improvement, thank G-d. i see his personality coming back, energy levels too, and appetite is slowly returning. thank you so much! i couldn’t find anything that said it was unflavored.

yes!!! i make sure he gets grains with his food no matter what. if it’s grain free, i add grains into the mix. they need the grains
