It is 80 degrees out and he wants to sunbathe. His fur literally becomes burning hot when he’s out there for more than a minute. He gets so comfortable he looks deceased. Send help.

Do you have the ability to do something like get him a kiddie pool or at least hose him down so he can continue to sunbathe while drying off and not get too hot?? I just have seen so many heat stroke patients (vet med) and it’s so horrible to see your pet go thru, I know he’s stubborn and doesn’t know what’s good for him but you can try

It's a double coat. The outer, rough fur insulates the inner, softer fur, which keeps in the cool air from inside. He's fine unless he's panting really fast

I check on him frequently when he sunbathes, he’s never out there for longer than half an hour :) I also keep the patio door open so he has access to ice water and shade. He really dislikes being wet so he wouldn’t willingly use a kiddie pool and I’d feel bad hosing him down 😭
