Whatever he is, he definitely looks like a mix! Being as broad and short as he is, he looks more like an Australian cattle dog to me, maybe mixed with lab? Doesn’t really look like a hound in my opinion though, in color or shape, though I totally see where you’re coming from

English setters, especially the field setter lines, also have that tricolored spotted coat that he could be a setter mixed with something stockier. Honestly could be a combo of a whole bunch of different breeds!
