i keep my bed raised at the highest height so that the whole underneath can be her little “cat cave.” that’s where i keep her litterbox and her bed and stuff. she has a scratch pad in the living area.

biggest advice i can offer is switching your litter to pine pellets if you haven’t already!!!! they smell GOOD when they’re fresh, and when used, don’t smell bad at all. no intense perfumey scent and most importantly, NO dust and NO mess to clean up. i’ll see a singular pellet that got stuck between her toes on the floor every once in a while, but it’s so much easier to deal with than the mess that clay litter makes.

also if you have any roommates with allergies, put your cat on dander-reducing food. my cat eats both wet and dry food, so i give her the purina liveclear formula for dry food. she lovesss it too. you can also bathe your cat in anti-dander dry shampoo every week. my roommates are all allergic but don’t have much of an issue with my cat (unless they’re like BURYING their face in her fur and cuddling her, which they only do right before a shower lmao)

AHHH tysm! Yeah I have a single dorm in the freshman quad (im pretty sure all the measurements are the same) I have him as an esa and I also have my bed lofted the highest it can go,, I’m gonna get a baby gate too so if the door is open he can’t run out :)) tysm for your help omg

you don’t know what kind of housing they have. personally, i’m in a literal apartment. my cat has more than enough space and doesn’t even choose to use all of it. also, some people don’t have the option to hone their cat elsewhere without getting rid of them altogether. if i had left my cat at home, my family would’ve let her run away and wouldn’t have taken care of her. living with me in my dorm situation is much better for her, and for me. she’s happy. don’t make assumptions.

If it doesn’t work out then I’ll bring him back home. I’m making sure that before I bring him he has plenty of enrichment and space. I’ve been harness training him so he can go on walks with me and there’s actually quite a bit of room in my dorm (the main room is 11ftx9.5ft, plus there’s a hallway that’s another 11ft). This cat means the world to me and then some, I will sacrifice a lot to make sure he’s happy. If it doesn’t work he will go back to live with my parents

I have plenty of vertical space as well that I will also be utilizing. He has separation anxiety from me as well so moving him into my dorm is better for both of us

I will say make sure your baby’s either been verified with accommodations and housing as either an esa or a service cat. Or your in the rocky pet program. Because if you have a pet you’re not supposed to have I think the eres a fine and disciplinary actions. Though my girl I have an area she can look out the window. A whole cat tree. Two ways she can get into my bed. So many toys, and things to keep her active plus she is being harness trained

Plus much like humans they will either love the dorm or hate it. Also make sure you have things for your cat to scratch their nails so they don’t scratch up a seat or the walls depending which dorm your in

Yes! He’s registered as an esa and has been approved. I have enough room to get him 2-3 large cat trees and he’ll have a ton of stimulation and things to keep him entertained
