I’m new to photography and I’m really into astrophotography more than anything. Tips & good cameras for it? I’ve been using my iPhone 16 pro max.Widefield is way more forgiving and there’s basically a bunch of different targets you can shoot year round. Best recommendation without breaking the bank is a DSLR (or mirrorless camera) and some kinda Star tracker and then the faster a lens you can buy the better. I have a Rokinon 135mm f2 (but your kit lens will do fine to start out if that’s what you have) always recommend slowly buying new gear and working it into your process than buying a bunch of stuff, cuz it sucks learning in the dark.
That said, if you have more of an interest in DSO, the all in one’s are getting interesting. Dwarf mini is like $400 and it’s stupidly easy to setup and use. That said, you’re kinda locked into the setup, and there’s not much resale value in it when they come out with a better model in a few years, but it’ll produce some incredible photos. I have the Seestar s50 (a similar model and have had a blast with it - I’ll drop a photo as a reply below)
Of course, your more than welcome to DM me and talk shop at any point too, just be careful, this shit is dangerous and will land you with a second mortgage on your house when you start wanting to chase better photos. I’ll include one more photo below from my “expensive” setup. 🤣
