The soil on one of my plants has been molding and then starting to die (?) since I moved to a new place. I read that rubbing alcohol could get rid of it so I sprayed some watered down on the top of the soil, being careful not to get it on the leaves. I did that two days ago and it hasn't come back yet, if you want I can update you if it works or kills the plant. I don't really know much about houseplants tbh

That’s fine sometimes molding of the soil is normal, just let it dry out more

Never allow a fly trap to dry out in fact you can just keep it in a tray of distilled water (fyi you cannot do this with most other plants their roots will rot). You can spot treat the mold with a q tip and some hydrogen peroxide.

In my experience though mold is generally harmless to plants since it likes the decaying material not the living. Id treat it anyways just in case it could be hazardous to your health.
