I take a box and cut the flaps off the top then set them in and put things around them so they can’t move and then be gentle with the box

Very carefully (small plants I put in a box, best of luck to you with the big ones)

You can do the box idea but also have a plastic bag (like a Kroger or Walmart bag around it so it is sure to catch the dirt
