Maybe a few years ago, but now I see a ton of people saying Gen 5 is peak Pokémon.

I wouldn’t call Gen 5 peak but it’s not as bad as ppl make it out to be (especially when alola is right there). It definitely has its flaws like the whole ash being treated like a new trainer despite him traveling to 4 regions at that point thing but it holds a special place in my heart as it was the first season of the anime i watched

In terms of the anime, Unova was not peak, it was a letdown. I’ll watch it sometimes and I enjoyed it as a kid, but I can definitely see that it was not good. The peak of the anime was Kalos for me, with Sinnoh following close behind

Agreed! Kalos was even better when it came to the anime, my favorite part being ash and Serena’s relationship dynamic and how we actually got to see ash’s relationships with his pokemon build rather than him catching a million of them like he did in unova
