I think she is a very talented writer but I think she’s not really good at gauging her own work and picking out the really good from the really bad. I think she probably has a lot of yes men around her who say that everything she does is great.

I LOVE her old music but her recent albums have had the same writing style, just less blatant cringe and more relatable feelings so it’s not like this crazy horrific change like people are saying it is. I enjoy her music and respect her career, i dont get why people act like she has to create the most perfect piece of art ever made to be able to enjoy it when that’s not even what she was selling it as.

She’s had.. maybe two albums with AMAZING lyrics (folklore and evermore) besides that she’s fairly average compared to other artists imo

Well the reason she became known for her songwriting was because of her ability to write whole songs herself at a young age. Folklore and evermore are more poetic but she still was able to storytell and put complex emotions into words on most of her older albums.
