Seeing Toto on a leash in the trailer is so funny because A. They had to put it on a leash because the dog is Ari’a pet and is not trained for film & B. 90% of Dorothy’s problems in the wizard of Oz is because she refused to put him on a leash.

Not to mention- every other animal in the movie is cgi …. And in the context of wicked your gotta wonder how the Animals feel about a little girl leading a dog around on a leash.

I feel like… it doesn’t really matter?

(Hint: the animals are a allegory for how minorities are treated 😬)

I know it’s a crazy revolutionary idea and it’s hard to understand, but maybe consider?

It matters and it doesn’t. Everything in film is a purposeful decision - this decision just says they cared more about pleasing an actress than details that affect the story.

But it’s literally just a leash it’s not that big a deal. Also a dog can still run away with a leash on my dude

Except in a world where the animals are allegories for oppressed minorities (like jewish people during WW2) putting one on a leash is a pretty big deal. Also it looks really bad in general, you can tell the dog is untrained and isnt doing what they wanted it to do. You may not care but to people who enjoy the art of film making its just not choosing ari over quality is a red flag.
