Obv not, but there are ppl with kids that have to be away for a bit. Like an oil rig worker has to be gone for months at a time and having some way of keeping contact is nice. There are also immigration issues where families are separated for a bit. Lots of jobs depend on you being in a certain area away from your family for a bit, missing things like soccer games, etc. ChatGPT doesn’t make up for it, nothing does, but at least you get something that way
One of my friends’ moms worked 3 jobs to support them after their dad passed. From what ik abt the taxi industry a lot of drivers basically just work all day to provide for their families & don’t get the time to rly be there for all their kids’ moments/talk too much, they have to sleep too. Time is a luxury not everyone has. My dad had to do groundbreaking medical research that ended up saving a lot of ppl’s lives, he could only visit on holidays and the time zone diffs sucked, I don’t fault him
Using ChatGPT in lieu of what can be done with genuine human connection will always be a slippery slope. Instead of having the kids tell ChatGPT about their day to then relay to their busy parents in some strange podcast format, they could just… text their parents everything they were going to tell a robot. Then the parent can do text to speech in the car while they’re driving.
