why are so many people hating on Sabrina Carpenter for not being feminist enough in her songs this album?? She provided fun sexy pop songs and doesn't need to do more, also her visuals are incredibly good.

It’s the way her fans said the cover showed us it was going to be a feminist and subversive and then she proceeded to give us the short n sweets leftover nachos

I think she saw how people loved the sexy puns in sns and decided to amp it up for this one and it just fell flat

The album is also not very subversive. We go from her crying over the man to her repeating the same cycle. Maybe thats the point, but I think it would be better if she changed the track order

as an example, the song “when did you get hot” is very good, it gives ariana grande, and 90’s type music. Her lyrics aren’t poetic or anything but her music itself, like instrumentals and where it sources inspiration, is very good but thats subjective.

I don’t think it needs to be feminist and subversive, its fun pop music, she’s obviously being extremely sexual this album, if you watch the tears music video alone you would see and hear it, shes allowed to do that not in the name of feminism but cause she likes it and thinks it matches her creative direction,
