Very few mainstream people are actually doing pure pop atp for that to be a valid argument, tate isnt either, shes a phenomenal performer but her music itself is consistently subpar, chappell and billie while I agree arent pure pop artists have easily the best vocal talent and writing ability in the list, also some of the most unique people on mainstream rn

I agree that they have better vocal and writing talents ofc! And the fact that ppl aren’t doing pop too much makes me like her pop music more, pure or not. I don’t think her music is subpar tho, because for me I value a good beat and the catchiness of a song, which she consistently delivers on. I can put on an album of hers and expect to save at least 70% of it to my playlist, which I can’t say about the rest these days (and Billie was my favorite artist)
