I’m not sure if this is a red flag or not, but I think my gf is very insecure and needs constant validation, to the point where if I’m quiet for too long she asks if I’m mad at her and if I still love her

Not necessarily. She’s just anxiously attached. If you proactively re-assure her I’m sure she’ll start feeling a bit more secure. But if you can’t do that be patient when she seeks it herself :)

It can be a red flag, depending on the girl and your own capabilities. My last gf was like this. Obsessively. She had a lot of issues but it got to the point where I personally dreaded seeing her because I was so tired of her clinginess. That’s just my story though and maybe your girl is different.

I’m not really sure why people are straight up downvoting people who maybe bluntly said this is a red flag, I’m gonna say what nobody else is saying though and say that she probably needs therapy and that if you feel like it’s causing tension in your relationship to be dating someone who sounds like she’s pretty anxiously attached or stuggles with insecurity/trust issues then reconsider the relationship from that angle and what your boundaries are.

Here is a good trick. Tell her instead of asking “do you love me?” you just say “you love me” and then you say yes. It feels better for everyone

Boy u need to reassure her. Girls are so diff from boys. (Coming from a girl) if she feels this way she has experienced many bad things in her life that has hurt her feelings and she just want u to reassure her. If u rly feel like u love her and want her and make her feel good reassure her and tell her that she can trust u bc it w girl can trust you and YOU LOVE HER.. and everything will be good and happy and the best thing to happen to uu. Trust…

It’s called an attachment style. There are four. Secure, anxious, avoidant, and anxious avoidant. Contrary to popular belief you are not always one or another. You may be securely attached with one partner and anxious with the next. It’s not a “red flag” in and of itself, at least within the context OP has given. If it bothers OP they need to have a conversation with their partner or decide for themselves if the relationship is worth pursuing. #themoreyouknow
