called the non emergency line of the police the other night cuz some asshole was revving his car for FORTY FIVE MINUTES at 3 am. i’m usually used to it cuz I live next to a busy road, but like I could tell that this dude was literally just like parked, revving his car. like mf no, we’re not doing that.
crazy to essentially wish death upon someone who appreciates cars, arguably one of the most influential and amazing inventions of humankind, something that I understand you will never be able to fully appreciate. but if your boyfriend had a nice car, it would be a different story. Just like my girlfriend who simply loves going for rides in mine.
I’m all for everyone having their own interests, but revving a loud engine in public is literally antisocial behavior because you’re annoying a bunch of people for your own pleasure. It’s linked to sadism and psychopathy (J. Schermer 2023). Disliking that behavior isn’t being negative, it’s being prosocial. But I understand you’ll never fully grasp that.
i’m def not the type of driver you have in mind, but my car is loud and i like to drive it fast. i do not sit at reds and burn thru gas. i DO take off from time to time and its loud. low miles per gallon, high smiles per gallon. i understand the sentiment but you are correct, we will obv never agree bc that would require you to apprec cars the same way i do. still, id argue your comment ab wanting ppl like myself to wrap their car around a tree is equally if not more antisocial
It’s not, because it has no impact on reality. Driving an excessively loud car disturbs other people, which is an effect on reality. Me silently wishing that someone totals their car causes less material harm than their actions that led me to wish that. Also not sure why you jumped straight to wishing death upon strangers back there.
wrapping a car around a tree has the implication of death, you may want to look up some images. and even though everyone on here is just numbers and words, real people are reading this, so it’s not necessarily silent, despite you not saying anything aloud. i’m all done tn, genuinely wish you the best
