Why? Wouldn’t you want someone accept that you don’t want them if you don’t want them? If they don’t accept it their behavior becomes stalking and harassment.

there’s a difference between saying that someone isn’t your type/that you guys aren’t compatible and saying that someone isn’t good enough. one is demeaning a person while saying you’re “too good” for them and the other is saying that you guys wouldn’t work well together. it’s the phrasing that’s the problem.
