I'm falling for one of my best friends, and I don't know what to do. I think we may be flirting with each other, and things between us lately have been different, but if I ruined our friendship, I'd never forgive myself

Atp, I'd ask yourself if you want a romantic relationship or a friendship. If you want a romantic relationship, then take that chance. Real friends could also take a respectful distance and come back to the friendship with good communication if a rejection does happen, so it isn't that a rejection means losing the friendship.

Thanks so much for the advice! I appreciate your take. Normally, I'd agree with this a lot both for others and myself, but the reason I'm hesitant is we currently live super far from each other, and I know she dislikes LDRs, so I'm confused why we've been flirting a lot and our dynamic has changed so much

Maybe her perspective on them has changed over time? To be honest, I might have a sit down style call with her, and just ask honestly if her view of LDRs has changed and most importantly if she's also sensed a shift in the dynamic between you two.

Thanks so much for your advice, and you make a good point because we have been friends for several years now and when I found out she disliked LDRs was around the time we met. You're right both of us definitely have changed since we met. I'll definitely think about this more! I'm just being careful because I wanna be respectful to her and not be her in a position where she feels pressured. I wanna respect her boundaries around LDRs
