Pace is crucial, but as long as the love is mutual, it shouldn't matter too much

Trust is important, if you cannot trust that he truly does love you, it may be harder to trust him later on as every action may cause you to overthink it as evidence of him not liking you, I say this as someone who did that alot in my relationship, is not worth it I promise, try trusting him, have an open mind and see how he does caring things for you :)
