He said when I said “why didn’t you tell me this like during the school year?” He was like I didn’t think I could because I didn’t want you to be upset I have gotten maybe sad by his words but not mad, so I’m trying to build trust up again so he tells me stuff (to do with us) even if it may result in conflict Build it up by communicating more, what I feel, when I can talk, etc.

I think it’s that he doesn’t want to hurt your feelings rather than avoid possibly making you angry, at least that’s what I’m picking up from what you’re saying. Just because he might be losing feelings doesn’t mean that something happened, it could just be what it is which still fucking sucks. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and his lack of communication. All you can really do is make it clear you’re open to communicating even if it means possibly being hurt because honesty is what’s (1)
