Just ask him about his love languages to start a conversation and say something along the lines of “I feel most loved and desired when (insert action) it would make me so happy if we incorporated more of that into our relationship”

By asking him about his preferences, using words such as desired and I statements, and improvising “more” it allows him to hear what you say without being defensive
