That's very kind of you to ask and to wanna be there for him! I'm cis so I'll leave the more specific advice for the trans people on here, but I have a close friend who is trans and honestly just being there for him when he asks or listening to him when he wants to talk about what he's going through can go a long way. My friend told me having people who try to understand and be there really means a lot and is validating
as a trans guy, coming out to people you’re close to can be really daunting and it’s really easy to read too much into any given reaction and see it as a negative one! I’d say, whatever his love language happens to be, do your best to assure him that you’re not going anywhere and actively make conversation and plans so he knows you don’t like him any less and still want to hang out with you! I personally also enjoy stupid pinterest trans memes. super thoughtful of you, btw :)
yeah I can definitely tell the slight shift in energy isn’t directed towards me and I was also getting in my own head about it as well. I felt selfish for being sad he was acting differently. but you’re right, coming out to someone is very different. this def put my mind at ease. this was really helpful. thank you so much for responding.
your concern means that you noticed, and the fact that you’ve noticed at all proves you care. give him time and support, but also space. once people grow into the space they allow themselves and gain confidence in who they are and like who they are, you’ll find that you will love them even more, too. never beat yourself down for caring!
