I feel like concerts are meant for you to express yourself and have fun. My boyfriend said my poncho out was ugly, unattractive and gave him the ick.. and if I wore it that I need to find someone else to go to the concert with… MIND YOU we’ve been dating for 3 years. He doesn’t think that what he said was wrong and doesn’t care that he made me upset. He said he was being honest and he doesn’t like my outfit and if I don’t change it he’s not going with me

Red flag for the future right there. If he’s going to cancel you over an ugly outfit, imagine how he’ll react over a real issue. I’d have the ick for him now lol. Serious.

sorry but that does sound like a terrible outfit however nothing about it seems offensive or disrespectful. you should wear something that makes you feel good and happy and comfortable to dance in at the concert, and he should support that. i have a feeling his behavior is not about the outfit and it’s about something else and he’s using the outfit as an excuse. i’ve dated people wearing terrible outfits and it never gives me the ick because i love them for who they are and not what they wear.
