New RA to experienced RAs, how long does it normally take to do the door decs and bulletin board? Should I start prepping things now to be prepared?

Depend on how main residents you have and what supplies/ machines your school provides for making door decs. At my school each hall has a cricut machine for us to use so we can get them done in about 2-4 hours. We also tend to work on bulliten board supplies and info through out the month so it’s not all at once

It depends, it took me forever because my door decs were super detailed and I made 55. I’d say make your door decs on canva before training, so all you have to do is cut them out. Cutting them takes the longest.

Depends on the design and how many residents you have for door Decs. For bulletin boards if you have everything already cut out and printed then maybe an 1

good idea to plan ahead of time, but definitely depends on what you plan on doing. I cut everything for my door decs by myself so I should've started earlier. others printed out pictures or used a Cricut

Oh gosh door decs id say take me roughly 4 hours and that’s between printing them and cutting them. I do have a suggestion though something I like to do is while I am cutting these out I put a tv show on for myself as well. Bulletins are pretty easy cause it’s spread out.

depends; i made my door decs for my entire floor because my co wasn’t helping me, and i also made some for staff too. i made over 100 & it took me a couple of days due to that, but making some for my specific side of the floor (30 residents) took a couple of hours

idk during our training week one of the seniors managed to get all of his door decs and bulletin boards done for the year (with the pre-stapled butcher paper just rolled up and kept in his dorm) so there’s definitely ways to make it go faster! you might have access to a cricut in your RA department so don’t hand cut them all if you can wait until then

I would make 50 door tags and it would take a week, but it was all don’t by hand and my bulletin board I designed and prepped all month before it was due little by little so it only took 20 minutes to assemble at the end

It depends how intricate the door tags are I remember I spent a good chunk of time b/c I had to cut these small details. But I would make sure you have a good amount of time to do them or spread it out over a couple days. Like do a few one day and then the next day.

our bulletin board materials were posters provided to us so it doesn't take much time. if you have to design your own then plan ahead

but also get them done as soon as training starts because at the end of the week there will be a line out the door for the cricut lol

Especially when you have to do them during training spreading them out over a couple days is best because training doesn’t give time to these things.
