Some people do it because they need the money to go to school- I am one of those people… there’s are parts of the job I love and parts I do not love as much, but everyone should understand how difficult it is to pay for college and becoming an RA relieves a lot of that stress imo

That’s rich coming from an RD that’s a want to be cop. I’ve had my encounter with some of the shittiest RDs at my college. Most of you are the same and are dicks to your staff. When I wasn’t rehired I quit the very next day just to make them panic. RA’s are not paid enough to put up with power tripping RD’s and I wish more of them would realize this and follow suit.

The funny thing is that everyone knows that without those perks no one is taking the job. I generally wonder how long reslife as a department has. More and more people are realizing how shitty you guys are. And the best part is after students graduate y’all can’t do shit to their future, especially if they don’t put a reference down for your department.
