Try giving him one thing a week to look forward to. It could be something simple like a poker night or movie night. Just one thing a week for him to mentally prepare for and look forward to. Eventually he’ll naturally involve himself more and maybe even look for more opportunities to hangout throughout the week. It’s a slow process but just be supportive of him, he’s clearly not in a great place right now.

Yeah no lived with him last two years, told him multiple times about cleaning up, trash, moving clothes in a reasonable time/set timer cause he leaves it sit there overnight. He uses an excuse every time, as he sits in his room playing video games where I can hear him across the hallway 24/7. Was gone all summer to find out he got housing violations, he broke the washer last year due to too much clothes in it where I had to get it replaced and he put trash/cardboard in front of my room/bathroom

And didn’t take it out till I walked into the apartment after being gone all summer and said he didn’t know where to put it as he lived here the last three years knowing where the garbage goes. Came home from work to see he left everything on in the living room, told him nice and polite to turn everything off when not using to not waste electricity his excuse was he was sick.

Didn’t know it was that bad till he put pop cans in garbage instead of the recycling right next to garbage went to put can in recycling to see he had an ant infection and put the ants in the can along with him putting garbage/garbage in his closet that’s how lazy and disgusting he is. Found out he put the old roommate before me whatever left in a drawer instead of throwing it out been sitting there for 3 years didn’t know it was there till last spring.
