my roommate has a cat (emotional support) and I didn’t mind at 1st but now the cat has started sleeping on my bed and clawing at some of my things. she tries to stop her but honestly I’m getting sick of it and am thinking about telling her to take it home

Clawing at what exactly? It can be corrected with stuff from the store that deters them away from it. I’ve had to do that before cause I don’t own the furniture in my apartment except my bed. Nothing you can really do about it sleeping on/in your bed. But you also can’t exactly tell her to simply ‘take it home’ especially if it’s a certified ESA and genuinely helps her.

I’m also in the same boat, say something before it gets to bad. Because before you know it your moving rooms and your the pos for not caring about their disability even if you have your own disabilities that they maybe making worse.

My hamper and some of my blankets. It’s definitely registered but it’s only for anxiety and she’s not even medicated for it… the cat definitely helps but it seems like she just wanted to bring it.

I would definitely try to see if she would be willing to get that scratch stuff! But even then you don’t have to be on medication to have an ESA I have BPD and I have two ESA’s, personally I would just talk to her about things and don’t just label her or the cat as the bad guy especially if you agreed at the beginning to have the cat in the beginning.

as someone who also has a registered ESA. it is her responsibility to take care of it and correct bad behavior. disabilities are not an excuse to be lazy and not take care of your animal properly
