I grew up in an area that didn’t need to lock doors- it was something I had to learn. Not tryna defend your roommate they need to learn faster 🤷

Had to scold my roommate for this bc in the 10 minutes they were out doing laundry I entered our apt, locked the door behind me, locking them out. Thank fuck it was me and not someone else.

everyone should be locking their doors. don’t matter where you live. i would remind the roommate and if it keeps being an issue, i’d take it to an ra. may be a tad dramatic but safety comes first.

My bf does not lock the door the house when he leaves even when he traveling 45 mins away. I keep telling him, you need to lock it or one day someone going to be waiting for you. His response: I’m going to give them the special. The special: 👊👊

My roommate and I got into a fight once and she would leave the door unlocked for over a month after just to be petty. Luckily nothing happened, but why would you do something that could harm us both just to annoy me??

every time i meet ppl like this im like "ok so youre an only child (or you had really chill siblings) who lived in an affluent or rural area". i worked at a summer camp where we were out in the woods and none of the cabins or staff housing locked 🙃
