Hard take when I was growing up we just did whoever is the first to need to throw something away they put a bag in but like I take out the trash everyday (military room inspections) I guess I could be the dick tbh

I’m a bad person but when my roommate wouldn’t ever change the bag, I let our apartment get a fruit fly infestation. I refused to change it after a few months and waited it out. Eventually she caved and from then on we both did it. Idk if it would work for you but if you’re willing to live with bugs temporarily you could give it a shot

Haha I’m in the military and we do room inspections lol I have to take it out every morning and he dosnt even clean his side of the room or have the ability to make his bed in the morning which you have to do or you’ll fail room inspects

i think some ppl def grow up w/ different rules but i think its rude that your roommate didnt even look and check, not to mention the fact that throwing trash into an empty can sounds different even if youre not looking
