My roommate goes into the common area while I’m cooking just to talk as loud as she can on while on speaker phone… doesn’t do anything but stand there… then hangs up and goes back to her room??? What was the point??

If it’s in the room, I get it. But the commons area, that’s like the designated area where you can be loud, if your roommates are studying in your room and stuff. You can’t get mad at that.

So it’s ok to just be yelling at the top of our lungs while inside? Idk but that’s just not how I was raised especially when it’s before 8am or after 10pm there are others who live here.

You didn’t really say yelling you said talking as loud as they can, so I was imagining something different which was not even close to yelling at the top of their lungs. It was more like loud talking. I would not find yelling at the top of your lungs to be pleasant in any case or okay. And yeah, nobody was raised in a dorm with a shared living/kitchen space (typically); but we all compromise.
