Sometimes I'd tell my roommate "I had a long day I'm not in the mood to talk" and she would understand. Might be worth just saying you're really tired and want to have some quiet time it's ok

I get you my freshman year I went to school from 9-12 worked 2 to 6:30 almost everyday and my roommate would always be home trying to chat it up with me it was draining
